Infant Program Overview
At Kayfield Academy, all of our babies have personal linens and their own private changing station. Our changing stations are sterilized between each change. Our Infant Suite caregivers have been especially chosen for their knowledge and love of babies and their keen ability to adhere strictly to parents requirements. We always maintain very, very, low caregiver/baby ratios with mature, responsible staff who are intimately familiar with the temperaments and personality of your baby.
We will follow your infant Profile Sheet, step by loving step and according to your own mothering/fathering style, so that you may always know that your baby is being cared for EXACTLY as you instructed.
As your schedule permits, you are always free to call or come by and join us at baby’s meal time, take your baby for a stroll through the park, or a gently rock them to sleep before naptime. We are your partner in the daily care of your infant and we appreciate the opportunity of sharing this special time with you.
Crawler Program Overview
One of the primary goals of the Kayfield Academy Crawler program is transitions. In the crawler program, everything we do is centered around preparation for toddler programs. While the crawler program shares much of the same curriculum as the infant room, there are major differences. Primarily, these differences correspond to physical ability, decreased dependancy for basic needs, increased motor activity, increased awareness and sense of self.
As a parent, you will enjoy watching how far your infant is advancing each and every day. We will work closely with you to maintain a similar schedule, eating habits, sleeping habits, etc.

Toddler Program Overview
In the Kayfield Academy Toddler Program, the curriculum allows children to learn through large group times, specialized activity times, and outside playground time. Classes are divided according to age; there is a difference between “recently one” and “almost two.” We understand and appreciate these differences. Teachers at this age level employ a more challenging and ultimately more structured lesson plan. Your child will begin to learn sentence structure, syntax, and creative story telling. Playtime changes as well; at this stage, play becomes another tool for learning.
Your child will start learning shapes, colors, numbers, animals/animal sounds, body parts, and even the primary stages of letter/number recognition. In this first of two toddler programs at Kayfield Academy, your child will start learning independence, learn to interact in a socially acceptable way with others, and practice more advanced levels of communication.
A lot has changed since your child was just rolling back and forth. Now it’s time to promote individualism, creative thinking, problem solving, and an overall higher level of education. Although we still take “baby-steps” in this stage, the foundation for a lifetime of learning has begun!
Two’s Program Overview
The Kayfield Academy Two’s Program curriculum gets more challenging, and more exciting! Teachers introduce foreign language studies, early stages of sign language, and group music classes. Artistic expression and creative thinking/problem solving are also encouraged at this level. We also feel it is important to begin potty training instruction at this stage. At Kayfield Academy, our teachers will work closely with parents to mimic home routines, provide rewards, and lots of encouragement.
We extend all resources in a developmentally appropriate manner to ease your toddler into these exciting new experiences. The curriculum will specifically focus on promoting feelings of self-esteem and social skill development. Each teacher and specialist is a highly qualified, capable, and experienced educator. We strive to make each day a creative, stimulating, and happy experience for all students.

Preschool Program Overview
The Kayfield Academy Preschool Program is designed to leverage the skills and understanding learned in earlier programs against new challenges and teaching.
By this time, your child has learned a great deal about the world around them; they are more familiar with their unique place in life. Needs-based interaction fades and a strong desire to contribute becomes more apparent. Your child understands social interaction, accepts/participates in routines, and makes decisions based on learned behaviors. This is an exciting time! Your child begins to reason more and more on how and why things happen each day, where their place is in it, and how to cope with change.
Our Pre-school curriculum and classrooms are designed to conduct a structured learning environment coupled with large and small group learning times. Small groups contain part teacher run activities which focus on one on one development while part encourage individual play focusing on positive social development. Large group learning is a time of teaching recognition of upper and lower case letters, pronunciation of letters, counting and recognition of numbers, review of shapes and colors, teaching primary and secondary colors, sign language and Spanish, teaching theme related topics, and much more.
Pre-K Program Overview
The Kayfield Academy Pre-K Program is designed to prepare your child for kindergarten. However, by this time, many long-term Kayfield Academy parents notice that their child not only breezes through kindergarten entrance requirements, but also has already learned most of the kindergarten-level fundamental instruction.
Just like the Preschool Program, the Pre-K curriculum is designed to conduct a structured learning environment coupled with large and small group learning times. Continued instruction on upper and lower case letters, pronunciation of letters, counting and recognition of numbers, review of shapes and colors, teaching primary and secondary colors, sign language and Spanish, teaching theme related topics, and much more. In the Pre-K Program, students take what they have learned in previous programs to a higher level.
Advanced language arts, science, reading and writing, math, art, dramatic play, computers and music will all be a part of your child’s daily schedule.
