Nurturing. Providing. Educating.
Kayfield Academy sets the standard for preschool and early childhood education programs in Kentucky. At Kayfield Academy, we strongly believe in the value of new and varied experiences; which is the foundation of knowledge for holistic and well-rounded child development.

Infant Program
Our infant program is more than just repeat feedings and diaper changing. Believe it or not, infants do learn, and are highly stimulated by the environment around them (take that, science).
This is why we make sure our infant rooms are perfect for your new little addition; from the temperature of the room to the temperature of their bottle – we focus on every detail. Additionally, we make sure we do things in much the same way as you would do them. We want your baby to learn in an environment that’s safe, warm, calm and relaxing – listening to soothing sounds while clutching their blankie and passie.
We know all too well the fears new parents have but rest assured, your little baby boy or baby girl will be in the best possible arms when they are not in yours. We can’t wait to meet your beautiful baby!
Crawlers Program
The crawler program has lots to offer your little explorer. Now that they are becoming more mobile, there are new activities and learning opportunities awaiting them.
One of the primary goals of the Kayfield Academy Crawler Program is to encourage transitions. In the crawler program, everything we do is centered around preparation for their next step; the toddler program. While the crawler program shares much of the same curriculum as the infant room, there are some significant differences. These differences correspond to the child’s increased physical ability, decreased dependency for basic needs, increased motor activity and increased overall awareness of the world around them.
As an infant, your little one was sitting on the sidelines – now they are starting to get into the game.
Toddlers Program
From toys, books, computers, wall mirror imagery, climbing equipment, and above all, caring, loving, intelligent daily role models. We will truly be your partner in this wonderful and exciting time in your child’s growing development.
With low child-teacher ratios and a spacious environment, and a separate toddler patio with challenging yet safe equipment designed just for them. Your child will experience a day of individual and group play, circle times with stories, songs and finger plays, appropriate exposure to art and music and lots of special individual attention to nurture what ever is interesting to her that day.
Transitions Program
In the Kayfield Academy Transitions program, our two and early three year olds are truly unique! They now possess the basic, if not matured, verbal skills and knowledge of what THEY feel is necessary for their happiness. It takes a special environment to handle the Terrific Twos and aren’t they (you) lucky to have found it at Kayfield Academy!
Based on a proven curriculum, your toddler will start to phase into the Academy’s extracurricular activities such as music, dance or even Soccer.
They will thoroughly enjoy the opportunity of moving into a different environment and having the advantage of expressing himself with many different sensory activities.
Preschool
By this time, your child has learned a great deal about the world around them; they are more familiar with their unique place in life. Needs-based interaction fades and a strong desire to contribute becomes more apparent.
Your child understands social interaction, accepts/participates in routines, and makes decisions based on learned behaviors. This is an exciting time! Your child begins to reason more and more on how and why things happen each day, where their place is in it, and how to cope with change.
Our Pre-school curriculum and classrooms are designed to conduct a structured learning environment coupled with large and small group learning times. Small groups contain part teacher run activities which focus on one on one development while part encourage individual play focusing on positive social development. Large group learning is a time of teaching recognition of upper and lower case letters, pronunciation of letters, counting and recognition of numbers, review of shapes and colors, teaching primary and secondary colors, sign language and Spanish.
Pre-K Program
The Kayfield Academy Pre-K Program is designed to prepare your child for kindergarten. However, by this time, many long-term Kayfield Academy parents notice that their child not only breezes through kindergarten entrance requirements, but also has already learned most of the kindergarten-level fundamental instruction.
Just like the Preschool Program, the Pre-K curriculum is designed to conduct a structured learning environment coupled with large and small group learning times. Continued instruction on upper and lower case letters, pronunciation of letters, counting and recognition of numbers, review of shapes and colors, teaching primary and secondary colors, sign language and Spanish, teaching theme related topics, and much more. In the Pre-K Program, students take what they have learned in previous programs to a higher level.
